Consumer protection laws do not apply to purchases from private sellers.  More specifically, the right to reject (section 20 of the Consumer Rights Act) does not apply.  Buyer's rights are significantly reduced when a sale is carried out between two individuals.  Goods from private sellers do not have to be fault-free and if defects or marks were clearly mentioned in our description and lot photos, then you do not have a case against the seller.  However, if the seller's goods do not match the description, you have the right to ask for a refund on return of the goods to us.

Please ensure that you undertake close up viewing/inspection prior to placing any bid.  If you are not satisfied with the photos, or if you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please click "ask a question" to make specific enquiries or to receive a more in-depth condition report.  Lots will be sold as seen and described.  

Insurance against breakage or loss during transit is available at checkout at a cost of 3.5% of the hammer price.

Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against leakage in transit.

It is not uncommon for bottles to contain sediment, either in the form of naturally occurring lipids that precipitate out of the whisky at low temperatures or in the form of cask related sediment. This is particularly prevalent in older bottlings. Neither naturally occurring lipids or cask related sediment would affect the taste if consumed and it is not considered a fault.
