About the distillery
The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray. The Macallan Distillers Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
Other Information
This iconic bottle of extremely rare and collectible single malt whisky from The Macallan distillery is a piece of history.
Produced from just three casks dated between 1926 and 1928 this Macallan was bottled in 1983 and therefore, although labelled as a 50 year old it is, in fact, at least 55 years old.
Together with a personal letter of authenticity from the then chairman of Macallan, Allan G. Shiach, this example represents one of only 500 that were produced.
