About the distillery
Bowmore is a distillery that produces scotch whisky on the isle of Islay, an island of the Inner Hebrides. The distillery, which lies on the South Eastern shore of Loch Indaal, is one of the oldest in Scotland and is said to have been established in 1779. The distillery is owned by Beam Suntory who also own the Auchentoshan, Glen Garioch, Laphroaig and Ardmore distilleries and produce the Teacher's Highland Cream blend.
Distilled on 22nd of November 1955, originally matured in a bourbon hogshead before 20 years later it was transferred into a Sherry cask to finish maturing prior to being bottled in 1995.
The beautiful hand-crafted glass decanter was produced by Caithness Glass, Scotland and are each individually numbered.
The presentation case was hand-made from oak by Master Cabinet Makers Charles Kirkby & Sons, England.
