About the distillery

Bowmore is a distillery that produces scotch whisky on the isle of Islay, an island of the Inner Hebrides.  The distillery, which lies on the South Eastern shore of Loch Indaal, is one of the oldest in Scotland and is said to have been established in 1779.  The distillery is owned by Beam Suntory who also own the Auchentoshan, Glen Garioch, Laphroaig and Ardmore distilleries and produce the Teacher's Highland Cream blend.

Other Information

From the highly rated Bowmore distillery, this  is an excellent expression of a cask strength, 34 year old single malt whisky. Distilled in 1971 and matured in ex-sherry casks before bottling as part of an outturn of just 960 bottles. The colour is rich and dark and hints at what is a very spicy, rum-like single malt.

This is bottle Number 325 of 960
