About the distillery
BDDC are focussed on creating a Scottish whisky distilled using the same innovation and maverick nature that up ended a multi- generational grip on the world of beer.
In 2022, BDDC moved into its new distillery, on-site at BrewDog HQ, boasting not one but two triple-bubble-pot stills.

This is why we’ve been relentless in our discovery, from grain to mashing, fermentation to distillation and finally casking and maturation. The intricacy of where flavour is created has been considered at every stage. Making purposeful decisions like, only using golden promise barley, mash filtering, using intricate blends of yeast strains, triple bubble distilling and controlling the humidity of our maturation warehouses. These small incremental differences add up to something special.
Our venture into the world of flavour in whisky has led our team of distillers under the stewardship of our Master Distiller, Steven Kersley, to experiment like zealots to the cause. Our unrelenting want to understand and expand, informs us, drives us and the best part, we’re just getting started.

How Does The BrewDog Cask Auction Work?
Step 1 - Bid on casks
Select the cask number and type (Single Malt Ex-Oloroso, Single Malt Ex-Bourbon, Single Grain Rye and Ex-Oloroso Dark Rum) that you are most interested in and place your bids in our live auction.
Step 2 - Fill Cask & Age
Casks will be filled by BrewDog Distilling Co. in 2024 and put to rest in the warehouse to mature under your ownership.
The hammer price paid will include storage at BrewDog's warehouse for up to five years.
IMPORTANT:
- Please note that bottling costs, customised labelling, duty and VAT are not included. Illustrative costs can be found within the Cask Sale Prospectus.
- Annual storage fee will become payable by the buyer after the included 5 year period.
- Ownership of this cask is auctioned and to be filled in 2024 in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
- Non-UK buyers must appoint a duty representative to act on his/her behalf for transfer of ownership of the cask (Whisky Hammer can assist in finding a UK representative if required). The duty representative will need to be registered with HMRC and will normally charge an annual fee for the service.
- Please note if the new owner is a UK revenue trader (business or private individual connected to the trade), they will need to be registered with HMRC and hold a WOWGR certificate.
Consumer protection laws do not apply to purchases from private sellers. More specifically, the right to reject (section 20 of the Consumer Rights Act) does not apply. Buyer's rights are significantly reduced when a sale is carried out between two individuals. Goods from private sellers do not have to be fault-free and if defects or marks were clearly mentioned in our description and lot photos, then you do not have a case against the seller. However, if the seller's goods do not match the description, you have the right to ask for a refund on return of the goods to us.
Please ensure that you undertake close up viewing/inspection prior to placing any bid. If you are not satisfied with the photos, or if you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please click "ask a question" to make specific enquiries or to receive a more in-depth condition report. Lots will be sold as seen and described.
Insurance against breakage or loss during transit is available at checkout at a cost of 3.5% of the hammer price.
Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against leakage in transit.
