About the distillery
"The Dalmore" Distillery is located in Alness, which is 20 miles North of Inverness. It sits on the banks of the Cromarty Firth overlooking the Black Isle, the "big meadowland", from which it takes its name.
The Dalmore distillery is owned and operated by Whyte and Mackay Ltd, which is owned by Philippines based Emperador Inc.

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Dalmore single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2001.
Originally filled with Dalmore spirit on 13th April 2001, this refill barrel is currently held in bond at Ardmore distillery.
The cask was regauged on 9th December 2021 summarising the following:
- Original bulk 196 litres | Original strength 63.5% ABV | 124.5 litres of alcohol
- New bulk 141 litres | New strength 58.4% ABV | 83.4 litres of alcohol
This would currently yield approximately 201 x 70cl bottles of 20 Year Old Dalmore whisky.

IMPORTANT:
***PLEASE NOTE: Due to the terms of cask transfer at Ardmore distillery, the Buyer must be in possession of a valid WOWGR certificate in order to purchase this cask. Before an account could be opened, the distillery would need a copy of the new owners WOWGR (EX63A ALL PAGES).***
- Cask storage fee will become payable by the buyer.
- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Hammer. Funds will be held by Whisky Hammer until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.
- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling. Ardmore Distillery currently charge a new account admin fee of £150+VAT. There is an uplift/removal fee of £50+VAT when/if the cask is removed from the distillery.
- Non-UK buyers must appoint a duty representative to act on his/her behalf for transfer of ownership of the cask (Whisky Hammer can assist in finding a UK representative if required). The duty representative will need to be registered with HMRC and will normally charge an annual fee for the service.
- Please note if the new owner is a UK revenue trader (business), they will need to be registered with HMRC and hold a WOWGR certificate.
Consumer protection laws do not apply to purchases from private sellers. More specifically, the right to reject (section 20 of the Consumer Rights Act) does not apply. Buyer's rights are significantly reduced when a sale is carried out between two individuals. Goods from private sellers do not have to be fault-free and if defects or marks were clearly mentioned in our description and lot photos, then you do not have a case against the seller. However, if the seller's goods do not match the description, you have the right to ask for a refund on return of the goods to us.

Insurance against breakage or loss during transit is available at checkout at a cost of 3.5% of the hammer price.
